Casa Alquimia Artes -

A Family Run Hostel

Casa Alquimia Artes is a family-run hostel in the heart of Monteverde. Surrounded by the cloud forest, it is a perfect hideaway for those who are seeking tranquility and relaxation. From our spacious balcony you have a magnificent view of the hills descending over 4500 feet to the blue Gulf of Nicoya. Very close to the hostel are many attractions such as the four biological reserves of Monteverde, the Butterfly Garden, The Bat Jungle, night treks, and some delicious restaurants.

We strive to make your stay a pleasant experience – whether you need information about Monteverde’s activities or how to get to your next place – we are happy to pass on our knowledge and help you to arrange tours, tickets etc.

A Family of Artists-

My wife, Marianela, and I, Tarsicio, have only recently become hostel proprietors. We both have both a professional background in arts. We live in Monteverde with two of our four kids, Ipsilan and Gudari. Our eldest daughters, Surya and Huayra, are currently studying abroad.

As art is not just our profession but passion, we like to be creative. And so we have constructed two unique wooden houses; one is our home where we live with our family and the other one we run as a hostel. We love living near our hostel and making our guest's vacation as pleasant as possible. Every morning we prepare a healthy breakfast for our guests composed of homemade bread and marmalade, fresh fruits, organic coffee, and local eggs.

Marianela is already well known in Monteverde for hear delicious bread and marmalade; you have to try them!
